πPROFILE AND IDENTITY
Once the user signs in to the website, they will be asked to create a profile. This profile will be used to access all their key information as well as link to their other social media accounts or websites.
The user profile can be accessed both on the website as well as within the virtual world. All users can access any other userβs profile unless they are blocked by that user. Users are encouraged to provide as much public information as possible on the profile, including educational qualifications and status, social media handles, avatar (or real) profile pics, interests, payment information, groups and communities they belong to, friends and a wealth of other data. Some sections of the profile are only accessible to the main user while others are public. The user can define which sections of the profile they would like to make public or keep private.
The profile page and its in world counterpart also allow the user to add friends, view feeds, offer teleport links to friends, pay others, block/unblock/mute other users, or chat with them from anywhere in the world. It is highly customizable and controllable by the user. Profiles can be controlled and edited by the user either on the website or from within the world.
Identity is and will be a key issue when moving between virtual worlds and interacting with others across the metaverse. At a higher level, we will be looking at how to integrate and aggregate this identity into an avatar that can move across different virtual worlds seamlessly.
