# Land sales **Land sales follow a different protocol from sales of other assets, they are NFTs on a blockchain providing absolute proof of ownership, and provenance.** All educational institutions, businesses and agencies will need to fill out a KYC and appoint a land owner on who's behalf the land parcel will be leased. This is to ensure that only authorized representatives of each institution are given land owner privileges. Island parcels and mainland spaces including the Genesis Plaza are available on a first come first serve basis. Given that each avenue on the mainland have only 27 parcels each, mainland area is only available at a premium, to major corporate brands, tier 1 educational institutions, and government entities. Subsequently, land will be allotted in the form of island parcels surrounded by water.
